I show that Elizabeth Grimes married George Washington Alexander in Henry County TN in 1848. Although I am pretty certain that her surname was really Schuylar (Shuler and other spellings), I suspect her mother may have remarried to a Grimes and the recording clerk just assumed Elizabeth's last name was Grimes. This is my most difficult line. I hope your research can help. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Don't get discouraged, the Alexander line has long been my most difficult. I can't seem to get back any further than the g grandparents in Union County IL. To add to the confusion my grandmother (maiden name Alexander) married her cousin, her mother-in-laws maiden name was also Alexander. I can't decide if it's that difficult or if I'm just not looking in the right places.
