I have been trying with great difficulty to find my Alexander line in Charlotte and Campbell County, Virginia. I would love to know more about the Henry Alexander, John W. Nash and Sarah Alexander. According to what I have Henry Alexander may be Henry Ashton Alexander and is the brother to Edward Clarendon Alexander. Is Sallie Ann Nash a sister to these men? Who is John W. Nash and who are his parents? What can you tell me about Judith Alexander and Thomas Clark Alexander? I have been keying in on this Alexander family because of the Nash connection and the geography of where they were located. I would love to know more about them. My 2xgreat-grandfather was James W. Alexander (no clue what the W. is for) and his wife was Jane B. Nash. They married in Charlotte County, VA on December 08, 1843. Jane is the daughter of James Nash and Jean Virginia Pugh. I know of only one child of this marriage, Lavelette F. Alexander, my great-grandmother. Evidently James died in 1848 as he completely disappears from any records. He shows up in the tax records from 1842 to 1848 in Charlotte County. Assuming that James Alexander turned 21 in 1842 and that was the reason he appears in the tax list when he does, he would have been born around 1821. At that time Gerard Alexander, father of Edward Clarendon Alexander and Henry Ashton Alexander, I believe was married to Matilda Douglas, his 2nd wife. As far as I can tell they had one child George Douglas Alexan! der. I am wondering if perhaps they had 2 sons, George Douglas and my great-grandfather, James W. Alexander. The name Douglas is a name that has been passed down through Lavelette Alexander's line. Also in some genealogies I have seen about my family line, Henry Ashton Alexander is listed in error as the spouse of Jane Nash.
