    3. Hi Craig; I was surprised when I turned out to be a J2. I also had anticipated something like E or R. I wish I could help you, but I can't even help myself over my Brickwall. My lineage to my brickwall can be seen in the attachment. I am the first on the list. Larry Larry R. I am looking for the parent's of William Alexander who was born in Culpeper County, Virginia, and died in Elbert County, Georgia. I have previously posted to the list, but so far I have not got much further. I recently received the results from a 37 marker DNA test. This test places me in haplogroup E3b. I was expecting something more along the lines of R1b1. I have had no matches in the Alexander DNA project. I am going to post my results to ysearch.org to see if I get any matches there. I would especially like to hear from any other E3b Alexanders. I am confident in my line as noted below: - Me - My father - My grandfather - Robert Watson Alexander (30 Mar 1860 - 23 Sep 1915) m. Mattie E. Blackwell. Born in Butts County, Georgia. Lived and died in Jasper County, Georgia. - Newdigate O. (N.O.) Alexander (22 Aug 1836 - 24 May 1885) m. Martha S. Watson. N.O. lived in Butts County, Georgia, but he fought with a Confederate unit out of Jasper County, Georgia. - Willis Alexander (1798-1860) m. Sarah Chandler Banks. Born in Elbert County, Georgia. Died in Monroe County, Georgia. - William Alexander (5 June 1759 - 14 Dec 1805) m1. Frankey Rucker, m2. Nancy Shackleford. William was born in Culpeper County, Virginia. He migrated to Elbert County, Georgia, in the mid-1770's with a group from Virginia that founded Coldwater Methodist church north of Elberton, Georgia. I have copies of William's wills and all the returns. William was a Revolutionary soldier in Virginia and Georgia. William had a brother, George, that also moved to Elbert County, Georgia. Beyond William, I am unsure. Scenario 1: I have been operating under the idea that William's father was James Alexander (1722 - 10 Oct 1803) m. Elizabeth Reid. James b. Augusta County, Virginia, and d. Madison County, Virginia. I have James' father as Archibald Alexander (4 Feb 1707/08 - bef 1780) m. Margaret Parks. I show Archibald b. in Ireland and d. in Augusta County, Virginia. I have him immigrating to Pennsylvania in 1736 and moving to Virginia in 1739. Most of the documentation I have for this connection from William to James is internet-posted rather than primary documentation. Scenario 2: One researcher has posted information on-line (http://users.telepak.net/~kellyp/palexan.txt) showing James as the son of Moricida (Mordecai?). I have not been able to track this any further. There is some circumstantial evidence around this since William had a son named Mordecai (sometimes listed as Mortikey). Sorry for the long e-mail, but I am eager to move past this brick wall. Any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Craig W.
