    3. Hi Gerry, Provided below is Page 227 of the 1850 U. S. Census, PA, Montgomery County, Norristown Upper Ward (U. Ward Borough of Norristown), taken on the Sixteenth day of August 1850. It shows a William and Margarett Alexander with 12 children -- including Thompson L. Alexander, 20 years old, a Mason, b. in Maryland (estimated Birth Year 1830). For your fast knowledge and use, detailed family member data is provided. Just lately, in other states, I have found some Alexander descendants of my G. G. Grandfather, Ephraim Alexander, b. N. C. abt. 1811 (son of John Anthony Alexander, b. N. C. abt. 1771 or 1772 who came to Marshall County, AL from Washington County, N. C. during the 1830s). (If you know anything about either of these Alexanders b. in N. C., please tell me.) That contact gave me the date and place of death for Ephraim who, for "a few months," had been visiting his Daughter, Margaret Jane (Alexander) and her husband P. C. "Clack" Ragsdale (and their family) in Long Creek settlement of the Mesquite, TX area. Another son, John A. Alexander (who drew a military Pension for a few months before his death), was also living in Titus, TX. Because of "the connecting with" that Alexander cousin (where they saw my post on an Alexander forum), I have found out that he died around Mesquite, TX on 25 January 1896. A notice of his death had been provided to Marshall County, AL where he had lived most of his life since before the 1840 U. S. Census. I know how happy it made me to find that date and location of Ephraim Alexander's death that allowed me, just yesterday, to find an Obituary in our 13 February 1896 Newspaper "The Democrat" in Marshall County, AL. Therefore, I just wanted to take time to pass to you this information in my possession about this Thompson L. Alexander -- just in case he is yours that you are missing from the 1850 Census! Here is the detailed data from the 1850 U. S. Census of Norristown Upper Ward, Montgomery, PA: Lines 8 through 21, of Dwelling 97, Family 97: NAME: William Alexander 46 M Machinist Penn. Margarett " 45 F None " George K. " 21 M Cotton Delaware Thompson L. " 20 M Mason Maryland Egbert G. " 18 M " " Wesley " 17 M Cotton " Rebecca J. " 14 F " " Levi " 12 M None " Susannah Catharine " 10 F " " (Note: This name was initially entered as Susannah B. Alexander but then Catharine "with a ditto for Alexander" was entered "in the same line 16" and the B appears to have been "lined through" without entering another age; therefore, I am not sure whether the Census Taker meant to record "one person" 10 years old or "two people" who were both 10 years old!) Samuel B. " 9 M " " Mary E. " 7 F " " Hannah A. " 5 F " " William A. " 3 M " " Sarah E. " 1 F " " I hope this data helps you as much as making a contact in TX helped me! I recommend that you get a subscription from Ancestry.com for access to their on-line file of all U. S. Census records as well as Census records from England, Ireland, Scotland, etc. Have a good day! May God Bless and Keep You and Your Family as you continue searching for your ancestors!
