N., 60, died Saturday in District 6, Maury County, and was buried at Reese’s Chapel. -- from the COLUMBIA HERALD of 9 January 1891 The ages do not match, but this may be the Maria E. Alexander (53) listed in the 1880 census of Maury County, Tennessee, as the wife of John N. Alexander. She was born in Tennessee to parents born in North Carolina (Series T9, Roll 1271, page 216B). Another possibility is the Elizabeth Alexander (46) who is listed in the 1880 census of Maury County as the wife of John Alexander. She also was born in Tennessee to parents born in North Carolina (Series T9, Roll 1271, page 395D). Can anyone identify her?
