Surnames: Alexander Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.alexander/6115/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I know there were some tax records that show Anguish Alexander and Jesse Alexander paying taxes in 1771 in Surry, North Carolina, the same year that Surry was formed from Rowan county and the same year the Regulators fought with Tryon over corrupt tax officials. I'm wondering if anybody knows any other information on Anguish Alexander born in Lancaster, Virginia. Please let me know. I'm mostly interested in historical stories and would also like to know more about his ancestors.
