Recently received the death certificate of William Henry Sterrett born 1850 who listed his parents as Henry Sterrett and Catharine Alexander. Online information lists the husband of Catharine Alexander as Benjamin Harrison Sterrett. The children listed included William Sterrett but the birth date is listed as 1847 or 48. Catharine's middle name is listed as Madison. Is this a middle name or a prior marriage name? Was told as a child that the family was related to THE Madisons, Monroes, and Jacksons - still looking for how.
