I find the family of John Reed enumerated in the 1870 Census of Hardin Co., TN. He has a daughter Margaret age 3. In the adjacent household is James Alexander and family: 1870 Census, Hardin Co., TN 099 James Alexander 26 TN farmer, 3rd C. D. Bernettia 32 AL Emma 9 AL William 8 AL Minerva 8/12 TN Do you think that John Alexander might be John William? I checked the 1860 census for Alexanders in Hardin County and do not find a James Alexander age 16. From the above census, it appears that this family may have been in AL in 1860?
