I recently found that my Great, Grand-father was killed in a train/auto accident back in 1944. I happened to come across it while looking for a different relatives obit.! Doe anyone know how I might contact the railroad (Southern) regarding this accident? The picture that was in the paper was very poor and even the type is almost shot on the film. One thing I've learned quickly about being an Alexander and being close to the part of the country (Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., NC) where they had such a large impact is that the records are thrashed with so many folks doing their own research. If anyone has a clue, please let me know how to investigate this further. Thanks! Jim Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Jim first contact the main office of that railroad and email them asking for the info, second locate the city or village where the accident happened and locate the local newspaper for same and third find the nearest public libary where the accident took place maybe they might have another paper with a better picture and report or they might help you locate a better report in another library, ect. Hope one of the above plans works for you. An Alexander from Mexico having ansesters in Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co, NC.
