Epsy Melton married William or Willis David Nicklas. She was bc 1853 Bibb Co AL and he was bc 1846 probably Jefferson Co AL. In working on this I read that the Meltons were probably Native American or from the mixed race in Bertie and Gates Counties of NC. Have you posted a query on the Genforum boards for those surnames ?
