I first want to say, I was browsing this list because I have turned to DNA testing to assist in my work. I found a perfect 24/24 point DNA match with a descendant of Robert Edward ALEXANDER b. 19 JUN 1862, Beddingham, Norfolk, England, son of Jeremiah ALEXANDER. I am trying to find someone related to compare notes as we have a 75% probability of a common male relative. I too had a forefather that was in the Civil War, Henry LAWS, whom I knew had emigrated from England. I requested a copy of his Civil War military records from the National Archives. On the enlistment papers, it asks for place of birth. From this, I was able to find the family on the 1851 English Census living in Norfolk County England, about 25 miles from the above listed ALEXANDER. Hope this helps!
