We're both members of the Alexander Surname Y-DNA Project. We have a Genetic Distance - 2 on the 37 Markers test. I know we're related somehow, but I don't know how far up the line it goes. And it can't just be coincidence that there were multiple Alexander families from Mecklenburg living in the Madison/Henderson County areas of Tennessee around the 1850s. I don't know who Harvey M. Alexander's parents were, nor do I know where he was born (except for census records saying he was born in Tennessee). None of the names you listed are familiar to me (except for your mention of Maness...one of Harvey Alexander's daughters married a John Riley Maness sometime in the early 1900s).
