John was the son of James Alexander and Celia Hawkins. This James Alexander was born 25 Dec 1784 in Armaugh Ireland and is not related to the James Alexander who married Rhoda Cunningham. John & Lucinda Alexander had at least 10 children, Mary, Ceclia, James, Harriet E, Lucinda, J Burnett, Jackson Leicester, John Mitchell, Lorenzo Dow and Deborah. I have found marriage records, estate papers, census records and death certificates for these children. There is a marriage record of Harriet E Alexander and Joseph Smith in Buncombe County, NC. They were married on 7 June 1868. Will be glad to share this information and information of the children of James and Rhoda Alexander.
