Regarding message below: I'm from USA and looking for information on the Alexander family in Ayrshire prior to 1800s. My ggggg grandfather, Hugh Alexander, married Agnes McLelland in Dailly, Ayr on the 6th of May 1766. They left for the US with five children prior to the Revolutionary War. We have the information on them after coming to the states. However, we have nothing on Hugh or Agnes or his first wife Abbey Stephenson, whom he married in 1751 and who died in 1764. There were a several Hugh's in the Sterling, Perthshire, and Clackmannanshire areas of Scotland between 1700 and 1800. You may want to check for a connection to these areas.
