I have been trying to track down the source of one bit of information found on the internet on my Alexander line where Jane Nash is shown married to Henry A. Alexander. I know he wasn't Jane's husband BUT someone may have source material that led them to believe he was. He could very well be the father, brother or uncle of my James. If he is related that will finally break down that brick wall. I have studied Dr. Archibald D. Alexander who is also found in Charlotte County at the same time as my James and I actually know more about him than I do my James. I can find no connection between the two at this point. I feel certain a father-son relationship does not exist between them but they could be uncle and nephew. Dr. A. D. Alexander was born around 1777 in Rockbridge County and I believe is the offspring of Joseph Alexander and Sarah Reid. He married Frances Morton in 1807. They have one daughter ! Mary Quinn Morton Alexander who predeceased her father leaving him 3 grandchildren named in his will: Matthew Lyle, Alexander Lyle, and Mary Elizabeth Lyle Eggleston. I am now attempting to find out more about Dr. A. D. Alexander's family (brothers mainly) and I want to research Henry A. Alexander (Henry Ashton Alexander) who is a descendant of an entirely different line of Alexanders from Dr. A. D. Alexander
