Some folks just aren't careful about what they post and/or pass along to others. For example, my ggg-granddad was Archibald Alexander, Jr., b. ca. 1771 in Augusta (now Rockbridge) Cty., Va. I've seen many posters listing his death yr. as 1851. This is not correct. The "1851 AA" is the founder of the school of divinity at Princeton Univ. and is the cousin of "my" AA. "My" AA died ca. 1831 in Bracken Cty., Ky. I have a copy of his will and probate, so I know it's accurate. I've learned by hard experience to question almost all of the data that I see posted on these sites. As I noted previously, there are a few researchers (Robt. Frey and H. Jack Wells among others) who do good, serious research and are careful to note when some of their data is unverified. Further complicating this problem is the tendency to use given names over and over, i.e., "Archibald", "Andrew", "James", "Margaret", etc..
