I just replied to another one of your queries on Jesse, but don't know if you'll get a receipt since I posted under one of the other replies to you. So I am answering again. My husband's Lamb line is in Madison Co KY, and I have been looking at Lamb marriages etc. trying to sort out all those Lambs and their extended kin. I'd like to talk to you about Newt Alexander as well as others. I think Jesse Alexander is from the Alexanders who were in Orange Co VA where our Lamb lines go back to. My latest hypothesis is that Jesse's father is a William Lamb born 1785 in VA, son of a James Alexander and Jerusha Townsend. The timing and logic of these relationships work. Hope you receive this and that we can talk further.

I have been looking at Madison Co/Estill Co KY Alexanders and wonder if anyone knows who Jesse's father is? My husband is from Lambs in the Berea area. I have figured out that Rebeca is a twin to Lucinda Lamb and that their father was Matthew Lamb (census & tax records), but wonder about Rebeca's husband Jesse. I am guessing he may be a son of William Alexander b. 1785, son of James Alexander and Jerusha Townsend. Do you know anything that might confirm or deny this? Thanks.

    3. I am intersted in what you found. I have been looking for my grandfather Albert Kirby he apparently was in vinton county ohio Maybe he was born there? ) and my father was born in Circleville, Ohio. My Dad's birth certificate says Albert Kirby Alexander and Ethel Sands. OR I found census that lists Ethelda Sands also in Columbus Ohio on the census Dad had one sister that died at an early age Dad also had an aunt that lived in Ohio named Edna. My older sister said she worked in Columbus at "maybe" the Union. I lived in Athens and would go to Columbus when I was young. Things are sketchy but would love to communicate with you. This is the closest I have come to finding my grandfather. I do know that he left his family in Ohio and went to California. Have pictures from Pasadena. I think he remarried there. He may have died in Kern County, CA. The date of birth seems to match. I know he was in Ohio about 1923 because I have photos of him and my oldest sister in 1923. Anxious to hear from you. 2. Hi Carol, I was able to find a Albert Alexander, son of Alfred Alexander b.Ohio and Ida E.b.IL, both 29 years, in the 1880 Census in Carlisle, Lorain County, Ohio. Two siblings, a girl, Gertrude, age 6, same as Albert (twins?) and a boy, one month old. Parents of Alfred were English as were Ida's. Take care, Judy Minihan

    3. Hi Edna, My family was from a lot of places but settled in the Momence, Illinois area. St. Anne's is mentioned a lot as well. Kankakee county. They were close to the Malone's, and Tailors (Terrine) relatives. I would love to know more about all of them and if any are still alive. I did not know of them as a child but I have seen James H. Alexander, Elizabeth (Malone)Alexander, Julia (Taylor,Terrine)Alexander, Scott Alexander, Harry W. Alexander are all buried at the Momence cemetery. I have pictures and a little map that tells exactly where they were. I found a death notice in the paper for Harry W. Alexander and it says his mother Julia Alexander lived at 611 6th street. I live in California but want to one day go to Momence and see what I can find. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 3. Hi Edna, I read your post and had to write. My Grandmother was an Alexander, she was born in Jonesboro in 1886. Her parents were Cole and Cornelia Alexander. Her grandparents were Robert and Elizabeth Alexander. I have been trying to find out more about this part of our family without much luck. Is there any connection? Thank you, Mary Friend Edna Franklin <e.franklin@mchsi.com> wrote: I am an Alexander from Southern IL. What do you need? I still have the book and love it. I am wondering if it belongs to another family and would be happy to let it go even though it is beautiful. I am going to keep it until I can find out if any of these Alexander's are my family. As you told me you go to Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois hunting. If any of the Alexander's from southern Illinois and there about can help me find my family I would be so grateful.
