In the 1860 census, TN>Cannon Co, Akelius' son James is living next door with his wife Ann. In 1870 he is listed as "Akila Alexander, in Cannon County, with Elizabeth, William, Henry and Francis. In 1880, he is still in Cannon County, as Akelius, with Betsy and a granddaughter. Listed around him are James Alexander, wife Ann and 6 children, William, wife and 2 children, and Henry with wife and 2 children. And, no, this isn't my line--darn it! Maggie

Does anyone else have this info, and if so, were there more family members who also served in this war or during the Revolutionary War? Jabez (1755-1845) served in REv. War.

That is the other Hugh, who md Agnes Clark and then Betsy Alexander. He was b. 1758 and died in 1818 in Vermont. My Sarah's father was supposed to be born in NH and her mother b. in CT. I think this Hugh and Elizabeth is probably her parents, since I have ruled the other 2 Alexanders out and they do have a daughter, her age and at the right place to be married in 1821. I keep wondering if he might have been a cousin to Hugh, who md Agnes Clark. Anyway thanks for the info. Selma
