I am a recent Alexander DNA tester and it helped me learn a lot. Assuming you are not a direct male Alexander, you will have to find one to take the test for you. If you would like to learn more, I hope you will feel free to write. Hi Gail I did find my 1/2 sister Sharon in Missouri. She is a talent agent in Branson. Anyway, she was given up also but adopted within her birth fathers family. Her mother was told about the Alexander children. There were two occasions she looked up Sharon over the years and I wonder if she also peeked in on Mike and I. Anyway, I have absolutely found out I do not look anything like her Brown side, or her family. We evidently favor Edward and his family and we certainly are nothing like her personality-wise either as I spoke with Sharon's birth father at length. I found him first. Sharon had some pictures. I truly could never have guessed or picked her out of a group to be related in any way to us. No resemblance in any way. Sharon looks nothing like me and her children and grandchildren look nothing like us. You would never guess any connection. I think that surprised me. So I think we look a lot "Alexander". So it is very slow, but some info from that success of finding Sharon. All Brown info though. My nephew is doing the DNA 37 point test for Alexander info. I was to order it last weekend but I just got home last night after a hospital ordeal with my daughter. She is still experiencing those disabling migraines. So I'm doing it today. It's so great to hear from you Gail! I have not been on here much lately due to work demands. Been too wiped out by end of day to do much. With my grandson living here also, and my father I moved here from Missouri, I'm not as free and breezy as I used to be when it was just me and the dog! It's sure never dull! Thanks again for the note, and don't be a stranger - or any of you Alexanders out there! Sandi Mitchell Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device

His son, George Madison, had a daughter, Eva Elizabeth. Eva married Thomas G. Allen and their daughter, Pearl Evelyn Allen was my grandmother. I have some information about Squire's father, Thomas [b. 1773, d 1833]. I have a tombstone photo for him--my cousin took the photo south of Kansas City, maybe Bolivar, Missouri. I'll attach the tombstone photo--you'll have to zoom in to read the dates clearly. We're not certain if this is our line, but it's possible that Squire's mother, Yeureth Harrison [b. 1776, d 1854], is mentioned in court documents we have. I also have a listing form my cousin's GEDCOM file showing Thomas Alexander's children. If you would, could you let us know how were you able to verify the land grant for Squire? and, the marriage of son Thomas to Balinda Bray? Finally, do you have any information about the churches George Madison--Squire's son--might have pastored? Looking forward to exchanging more information; best wishes for your researches. Immediately married early 1948, and had another child Sharon Kay by December of 1948. She married Arthur Bray, Jr. She left this child as well when a baby, and always took back her maiden name of BROWN. It is believed her mother and at least a brother lived in Cairo IL in 1948. Catherine supposedly moved to Nevada MO after divorcing Arthur Bray Jr. Do not have proof of this yet, just found out. Catherine was always traveling to Chicago area as well, so she may have some connection there, and may have just liked the big city. Any suggestions, recommendations or information greatly appreciated. Oh, and Catherine was 23 in 1948, so her date of birth should be 1924 or 1925. Thanks! Bev, I am sorry but I have no information on any of these people. It may help you to consider finding a male Alexander to take a yDNA test, and thus be able to compare to the other Alexander testers in the hope of finding a match. In corresponding with those match(es), you can share information. This approach is often more productive when you have reached the end of your paper trail in the conventional fashion. However, that will entail finding a male Alexander, which apparently you don't have at this point. But at least that gives your search some focus, which right now you apparently don't have if I understand correctly. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
