Folks: I am finding myself going in major circles and am seeking some advise. I am looking for my Great grandmothers parentage, Have been for some years. I have acquired Ancesty so That's been alot of help BUT, I'm going in circles. See below and if anyone can offer any advice short of going to Alabama (No money) I would so appreciate it. Thanks Barbara Sarah Hannah Copeland brn between 1880 and 1884 Census says Alabama (MY BRICK) Clues 1900 she lived with her sister Mary E. Copeland Teague in Lathamville, Dekalb Mary was born according to 1900 Census 1874 Alabama. Mary was married to James R Teague 1891 in DeKalb Sarah Hannah was married to Jesse S Hallmark 1901 DeKalb 1920 One of Mary's sons Bill Teague living in Lathamville still, had living with him Tena Copeland noted as cousin born 1901. So, Sarah H and Mary E had a brother I'm guessing that had children. First thingI tried was to find Mary E. Copeland brn 1874 in Alabama. Found 4 of them. But, can't seem to track any of the families down to Lathamville which seems to be a key point. So, I'm striking out there. Jesse Hallmark was living in Etowah county in 1900 and in one year found Sarah H Copeland and married her in Dekalb county. So, I assume Etowah county and Dekalb are pretty close.
