Just wondering what anyone can tell me about Rufus Butler who is 53 years old on 1880 census of Etowah co. Al. and states born Tn. (1827) wife Caty 25 yrs. probably 2nd wife. and ch. Osca(Oscar?) 5 yrs. Beulla 1 yr. I`m looking for the family of Eliza Butler Holcome(Holcomb) 38 yrs on the 1880 census. she is the widow of one moses Holcomb (Holcombe or Holcome etc.) born Tn. also. Rufus could be an older brother but probably not her father. Were the Butler family of that area "Indian"? any input appreciated. Lori
