Looking for descendants of Jane PEDEN MORTON MORROW , daughter of John PEDEN and Margaret "Peggy" McDILL, who immigrated to America from northern Ireland with her husband, John MORTON, to South Carolina in 1768. Known children in this family are David MORTON, John MORTON, William MORTON and Elizabeth/Mary MORTON. These families, originally from Scotland, initially settled in Greenville, Spartanburg and Chester counties, SC. Jane PEDEN MORTON MORROW and her second husband, Robert MORROW, are buried in the MORROW Family Cemetery in Morgan Co. AL. The book, "The Peden's of America" is in the process of being updated by members of our family. I am heading up the "House of Jane" and would appreciate any and all input that will help move this project forward. Following the death of John MORTON abt. 1772, Jane married Robert MORROW abt. 1774 and had more children with him. Jane and Robert MORROW died in Morgan Co. AL. I descend from Jane's marriage to John MORTON. My direct line settled in Fayette and Lamar Co. AL. but other descendants are also in Etowah, Blount, Marshall and Marion counties.
