    3. Does anyone have a list of the charter members of this church? My ggrandfather, Levi Walter Jenkins, was a charter member and a deacon (don't know the dates he was a deacon). Or if no one has a list, who can I contact to get such information? I am in Weaver with area calling, so it wouldn't be a long distance phone for me. Thanks. Keitha Jenkins Kirk

My great grandparents moved away from the area (Etowah/Marshall Counties) in 1900, but my great great grandfather, Angus McLeod, is buried at Mt Vernon Church Cemetery (which I think is in Marshall County). I assume they went to church there. I don't know where my Bentons went to church -- they were Baptist and lived in Etowah County. I can assure you they went somewhere -- they were very much church-going folks!
