Archived Film T9-1306, p. 225-C Minie Sapington, Cousin Female, White, 12, AL GA TN She is enumerated with J.S. Gowdy, self, farmer 30 KY - - Sally Gowdy Keeping House, wife, Married, W 29 AL TN TN (most likely Minie's mother's sister) Mary Gowdy daughter, F, S, W, 6, TX KY AL Most likely scenario is that Minie was brought or taken by the Gowdy's to assist with Mary Gowdy. There are no other children which tells me the mother, Sally, has been ill. Sally was most likely a Porter before her marriage. The Porters would be found on the 1860 census for AL since she was born in Alabama. I will check this. If anyone has connections to this family , I would like to visit with you about them.
