I remember hearing of an Alex City. Does anyone know if this is the same as Alabama City, or are they two different places? ----- Original Message ----- From: <Donegan477@aol.com> To: <ALETOWAH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 8:05 PM Subject: [ALETOWAH] Alabama City > > > Where is Alabama City? > > > > > > > ==== ALETOWAH Mailing List ==== > Gadsden, Alabama weather can be found at > http://www.weather.com/weather/us/cities/AL_Gadsden.html >
Alabama City is in Etowah County in Gadsden. It's between Attalla and Gadsden, although you'd probably never know it just driving through. I guess you'd call it part of Metro Gadsden. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Cantrell" <carolcantrell@comcast.net> To: <ALETOWAH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 9:02 PM Subject: Re: [ALETOWAH] Alabama City >I remember hearing of an Alex City. There is a library on the main road between Gadsden and Attalla on the left side if you're aiming toward Attalla. That's the Alabama City library, I believe. Alex City is in Talladega County and Alabama City is in Etowah County. Alex City is actually Alexander City, but people shorten it to Alex City. Keitha
No Alex City if short for Alexander City, I think it is in Tallapoosa County, south of Etowah County, off hiway 280 going towards Birmingham, has the Tallapoosa River there, you ever heard of Lake Martin, big recreational site, it is from the Tallapoosa river. delilah ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Cantrell" <carolcantrell@comcast.net> To: <ALETOWAH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 10:02 PM Subject: Re: [ALETOWAH] Alabama City >I remember hearing of an Alex City.
