I am trying to locate info on the parents of John Eugene Redwine who said that he was born in Gadsden AL on 12/31/1904 (is there a record of this birth?). In his pension application he stated that his father was Sol Redwine and his mother was Mattie Brothers (could her name have been Naomi?) He had said that his mother died in a flu epidemic during WWI and was buried in a cemetery behind a watermill up from 1st Street.I don't find her death recorded in the 1908-1959 Alabama Death Record.
