Eli Cookson was the enumerator for Distict 149 in Gadsden in the 1900 census. Would anyone have any information regarding him? Since he was doing census work, would there be a public record of some type regarding this? He and his father Daniel moved to Gadsden in 1870 or so to get into a lumber business. They were from northern Maine. On the census he has himself listed as a farmer and has notes suggesting he has a family though he is living alone. The same notes are also on the lines that the other heads of family are on suggesting that he was making note of the complete family even though they were not living there. Can anyone shed some light on this family? Thanks, Gary Knight
