While researching my Alabama relatives I found an Alabama death index for 1908-1959. The index lists information in two ways: 1- Name, Date of Death, County, and Death Certificate number. 2- Name, Date of Death, County, and Volume, Roll, and Page Numbers. In 1915 and 1916 death certificate numbers are given. In 1923 - 1928 only a Volume, Roll and page numbers is given. I ordered a death certificate and got some useful information. My question is what information does the second listing provide, that is the Vol, Roll, and Page numbers. Each inquiry costs $12.00, so I would like to make sure its worth doing.
