I have a St. Clair Co., AL marriage certificate I need some assistance with. William J. Woodall to Mrs. Elizabeth Owens 12-16-1877, pg. 289 Both parties are of full age and both have been previously married. William J. Woodall and W.D. Green signed the bond on 12-14-1877. Woodall and Owens were married at the Ben Mauldin residence on 12-16-1877 by Edward L. Gilliland. According to the 1880 census, all participants were residents of Crawford's Cove, with the exception of the Woodalls. I found a William & Elizabeth Woodall in 1880 Etowah Co. Up to this point, I thought the 1880 entry was for William and Elizabeth Phillips Owens Woodall (md. Blount Co. in 1874). Now it appears that Elizabeth had died and he married another Mrs. Elizabeth Owens. But I have no idea who she is. There must be some sort of connection between Woodall, Green, Gilliland & Mauldin.
