I copied it from the Gadsden Times website Smith, Evelyn M. Published December 28, 2006 Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Evelyn M. Smith, 72, Steele, who died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006. The Revs. Alvin Turner, Jim McCord, Jimmy Harrison, Frank Umphrey and Jimmy Umphrey will officiate. Burial in Mt. Lebanon FCM Church Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing. Mrs. Smith was a member of Mt. Lebanon FCM Church. She was a former member of the Steele City Council. Mrs. Smith was an avid gardener and was known for her knowledge of plants. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubra Eldon Smith; parents, Charlie and Velma Washburn; and brothers, Charles and Eldon Washburn. She is survived by her daughters, Becky (Derand) Minton, Attalla, and Wanda (Ricky) Smith, Attalla; grandchildren, Rachael Lynn Smith, Riverside, Calif., Traci (Chris) Angles, Oxford, and Kevin Minton, Pell City; sister, Florence Gilliland, Oneonta; brothers, Marlin Washburn, Steele, and Hoyt (Nell) Washburn, Steele; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike Washburn, Mark Washburn, Stephen Smith, Wilburn Smith, Ronnie Gilliland, Marion Gilliland, Clark Rogers, Bobby Smith and Bruce Weinstein. Special thanks to Dr. William Doggett, nurses and staff of Medical Center East and to the Steele EMTs. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home
