He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include friend Lora Lacey, Trenton: son and daughter-in-law Dennis R. Chambers, Jr. and Leoda of Flat Rock, Ala.; daughter Tracy Marie Chambers, Danbury, Conn., father Bob Chambers, Skyline, Ala., sisters Brenda Parker, Skyline, Ala., Fredia Smith, Trenton, Carolyn Williams and Peggy Latham, both of Scottsboro, Ala., Shirley Smith, Chattanooga; brothers Larry Chambers and Edward Chambers, both of Skyline, Ala., Bobby Chambers, Trenton: grandsons Levi and Jacob Chambers; several neices and nephews. Funeral services were held Oct 15 in the Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Hilcomb officiating. A graveside service was held at Skyline Cemetery in Skyline, Ala. Arrangements were by Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- FRED P. SLACK, SR. Fred P. Slack Sr., 67, of Chapin, S.C., died Sept 26. Born in Alabama City, Ala., he was the son of the late Willie E. Slack and Grace Perry Slack. Slack was the previous owner of S and S Automotive in Irmo, S.C., from 1976 - 2001. He is survived by wife of ww years Mattie Slack; son and daughter-in-law Paul and Tammie Slack of Chapin; grandsons Joshua and Hayden Slack; granddaughter Chandler Slack; grandson Miles Baltzegar; granddaughter Mallory Reedy; g-grandaughter Kayan Slack; brothers Billy Slack, Junior Slack and Randy Slack and a number of neices and nephews. He was preceeded in death by daughter Debbie Slack Baltzegar and brother Tommy Slack. Funeral services were held Sept 30 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel before burial in Bush River Memorial Garden Mausoleum.
