    3. Ella Greer was R.A. Wade's first wife. R.A. Waid was my great-grandfather and I descend from his second wife Synthia Jane Rivers. Her Father was Frederick Rivers and Synthia Knight Rivers. I want to extend the line of Ella Greer for the children of Reuben Henderson Waid and my other cousins. R.A. Waid was Stokes Beason and Lettice Hays Waid's son. Stokes B. Waid was the son of Abraham Waid and unknown first wife. Stokes is listed in the 1850 Blount County census (age 21, son) in Abraham's household. Lettice Hays Waid was the daughter of Reuben and Tabitha Cornelius Hays. Tabitha Cornelius Hays was the daughter of William Cornelius and Lettice Cargill (Cargile). Tabitha is named in William Cornelius' will. I found G. W. Watts in the 1880 census with Annie, 1 year old, listed as granddaughter and Luella Greer, age 19, listed as daughter but with no wife present. I need to look at the 1900 census. Annie would have been 20 or 21 years old in 1900. I wonder what happened to W.M. Greer? Ella Greer died July 5, 1895. She and R.A. Waid had the following children as listed in R.A. Waid's Bible; information in parenthesis is not in the Bible: 1. Mary Alice Waid was borned April 28th 1884 (unknown date of death and place of burial) 2. Stokes W. Waid was borned April 29th 1886 (This is Stokes Washington Waid; married Fannie Walker; Died August 11, 1919; buried New Prospect Church just North of Jasper, Alabama on Highway 5) 3. John Isaac Wesley Waid was borned December 10th 1887 (Died April 1, 1980; married Maudie Andrews; buried Liberty Hill Congregational Church Cemetery, Houston, Alabama, Known as ‘Sidy’ Waid) 4. Charley Grant Waid was borned July 30th 1889 (Died July 10, 1969; married Mamie Hodges; buried at Fairview Cemetery, Double Springs, Alabama) 5. Allis Elar Waid was borned Sep 24th 1891 (This is Allis Elar Waid, married Mallie Cooper, unknown date of death and place of burial) 6. Reuben Henderson Waid was borned March 12th 1894 (Died March 23, 1986, married Roberta Drummond; buried Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Sipsy, Alabama) Thank you, Sue. 3. 1st marriage: W.M. Greer and Luella Watts obtained a license to marry in Etowah County on March 26, 1878. Bond was made by W.M. Greer and N.F. Greer. Record states, "G.W. Watts comes in person & gives his consent for his daughter to marry W.M. Greer." The marriage ceremony was performed "at G.W. Watts in Etowah County" on the "4th day of April, A.D. 1878." It is signed by "T.H. Dozier MG" (Minister of the Gospel.) 2nd marriage: R. A. Waid and Mrs. Ella Greer obtained a license to marry in Etowah County on November 8, 1882. Bond was made by R.A. Waid and H. L. (could be an I. or a stray mark) Brasher. This marriage ceremony was performed "at Bride's fathers" on 8th day of November, A.D. 1882." It is signed by "John J. Brasher, Minister of the Gospel." "L. E. Hamelin" was the Judge of the Probate Court on both marriage records. R.A. Waid's family Bible lists his first marriage to Ella Greer. Luella (Ella) was born November 3, 1860 and died July 5, 1895. I have located her grave in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Hanceville, Cullman County, Alabama near the graves of Stokes B. (Beason) Waid and Lettice Hays Waid. These are R.A. Waid's parents. Her name on the tombstone is "Louella Waide" but the dates are confirmed by the family Bible. I would like to find out information about G.W. Watts and W. M. Greer. My mother told me that Reuben Abraham Waid's first wife was married before and that she had a child (mother believed that it was a daughter) by her first husband. Any information about these two men would be appreciated. If possible, I would like to find out the name of this first child and the name of Luella's mother. 1. Northeast Alabama Genealogical Society - Swap Meet 2007
    2. Gail Brown
    3. If you are not a member of the Northeast Alabama Genealogical, we would like to invite you to send in some of your information to our library. This is a good place to store your material, in case of a disaster in your area, you will know there is a place where you can go and get a copy of what you had. Also this is a good place for others to see your material and most likely would be so excited and would contact you........WOW then you got a new cousin and a new researching buddy. Check out our website and see the building where your material would be stored, and if you are ever in this area please plan on a visit. http://www.rootsweb.com/~alneags/index.html NORTHEAST ALABAMA GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY HOME OF NICHOLS MEMORIAL LIBRARY P. O. BOX 8268 GADSDEN, AL 35902 Dear NEAGS Member, Ancestor Swap Meet 2007 is being planned for Saturday, 31 March 2007 at the Senior Activity Center in Gadsden, Alabama. One of the main features of the Swap Meet each year is our collection of approximately 5,000 family files. For the continued success of our Ancestor Swap Meet our family files need to be updated and additional information provided. Many of our members haven't submitted any information on their family lines. Those who have may have additional information to add or changes that need to be made. For many it has been several years since the information was furnished. You do not have to submit your entire file. A family group sheet or pedigree chart that includes names, dates and places along with whatever contact information you want to submit (name, address, telephone, email). These files do not have to be strictly local. Most of our ancestors came from other places or moved to others areas. REMEMBER NOT TO INCLUDE ANY VITAL INFORMATION ON LIVING PEOPLE. Please help your society with this project so that we will keep researchers attending our Ancestor Swap Meet. You may have the clue some researcher needs to break through their brick wall and they might be able to help you in return. The Ancestor Swap Meet is our major fundraising project for the upkeep of the library building and obtaining new books. Send your information to NEAGS, P. O. Box 8268, Gadsden, AL 35902 as soon as possible. We are already working with our family files. Remember that any information you send will be housed at Nichols Library and will give you a backup for your research should you suffer a computer problem or any type of disaster. Then perhaps 50 years from now a great, great grandchild will be thrilled to find a file at Nichols to help them with their research. When we're gone, who knows what will happen to the research we worked so hard to complete. (If you don't include donating it to Nichols Library in your will). Regards, RoseMary Hyatt Chairman - Ancestor Swap Meet

    3. I ran into a lady at Lowes in Warner Robins, GA., yesterday who said she was from Gadsden, Al. We got to talking and I asked her what names in Etowah County was she connected to, well the main one was DOBBS, then she brought up TINKER. Her last name now is Mallory, not sure if that is from a Al. family or a GA family - but if anyone is looking for info in the above names, then let me know.
