Hi Delilah. Do you happen to have a date of death for Joe and Frances? I just found out that Nichols Library has a book listing obits transcribed from The Gadsden Times. I found this from the Jackson County genealogy mail list, of all places. I have to go tomorrow and I thought I would get these for you. I asked Daddy's remaining family and can't get them. Ida Jo Pilitari is supposed to have them, if you know her. I haven't been able to connect. Also, after two years, the Gadsden Public Library has reopened after renovation. If Nichols doesn't have it, I'll go to Gadsden Library. If you have dates, I'll be happy to get these for you. I have Frances' in papers I have from the family papers and will be glad to send that. I don't know anyone else has Joe's. If you would trust me with your home address, send it to me at mailto:patalexan@yahoo.com I will mail Frances' to you. Also, I'm doing a scan of some old Phillips family reunion photos, one back to 1936, if you would like for me to send these to you. Pat Alexander Jacksonville, AL

No I am almost positive it was Gilbert. Am not sure of the county so this is probably why it doesn't show up. Thanks anyway. Hello, Could you please see if you find any listing for a marriage of Willie Catherine Sapp to a Cunningham? Confusion over the name for the man , think it was Gene Patrick Cunningham. He was from Ohio and she was my GGrandmother. He was marked out of the family bible and this has always left me with nothing but a cold trail. I would greatly appreciate this. I found the following entry in the 1920 Census for Walnut Grove, Etowah County.. There is no data in the 1930 Census for these people. Monroe is listed as having been born in Georgia (as were his parents). Martha is listed as having been born in Tennessee (as were her parents). The children are all listed as having been born in Alabama. I found a piece of paper I had cut out of The Messenger newspaper from Gadsden, Etowah County, Al., dated April 10, 2002 - on one side is a photo of Thomas EARL & Yvonne TOMLIN celebrating their 50th anniversary At Cove Creek Baptist Church. It has a list of some of their children and their spouses, according to the article, the Rev Bob Harris performed the ceremony. Apparently they renewed their vows. I cut this out because of a recipe on the other side. If this is anyone's family and you want the photo, let me know. delilah evans P.S. I think there is also a newspaper in Walker County, Ga., that is also called The Messenger, so I am not sure which state it is.
