I am trying to gather any and all information about them, and anyone who is interested in helping please feel free to contact me at Johnnyreb6@aol.com. I am currently gathering the rosters of all the Southern Volunteers who served in the Spanish American War, and as you can imagine it's pretty difficult trying to locate all these men by ones self, so I'm looking for any help that I can get. I'm looking for any artifacts, grave locations, personal documents, etc... regarding the Veterans of 1898' to 1902' from Mississippi, or any other State for that matter. This is part of a larger effort by myself and the members of the Micah John Jenkins Camp No. 164, Sons of Spanish American War Veterans, to try and make sure that the Veterans of the Spanish American War, Philippine Insurrection, and China Relief Expedition, are remembered. If anyone is interested in more information about the S.S.A.W.V. please feel free to visit our website at: http://www.geocities.com/sonsofspanamwar/, as well as for information about the General William C. Oates Outpost of Northern Alabama or the Lieutenant Richmond P. Hobson Outpost of Southern Alabama, of this Camp. Thank you all for your time, and any help would be greatly appreciated. Kenneth H. Robison II, Camp President, Micah J. Jenkins Camp No. 164, Sons of Spanish American War Veterans.

Bellew was living with wife Essie and sons Radford age 7 and Roscoe age 5, at Mount in Cherokee County, Alabama in 1920. I assume that they moved to Warrior River Valley prior to his death in 1928 and that she was living with one of the sons in Gadsden when she died in 1972. Additional research would confirm those asssumptions

Re: James McCullers; Webster's Chapel: Sorry...don't have access to the obits. I live in North Alabama now, but I was born in Webster's Chapel in 1943, and went through Elementary and Jr. High School at the Webster's Chapel School. My mother, father and grandparents were also raised there. I can't remember ever knowing of a family or person named McCullers, but the name does seem to stir some memories of a place name, perhaps McCullers Cemetery, McCullers Place (house or farm) for example. It was common there for a location to be referred to by the original occupants name for several succeeding generations. I had loads of relatives there and thought I knew everyone in that area. Genealogy LookUp Forum is a web site of volunteers who will do various types of genealogical look ups such as births, census, cemetery, deaths and marriage. We are also looking for new volunteers that have access to records that may help others as well. We do have our own genealogy chat room that is moderated by Hosts who are very helpful on giving others genealogical advice. They will do look ups from several paid online resources for those who do not have access to them. We have a weekly chat called GENTREK with HOSTS that give a genealogical presentation class to the members each week. The topics are different every week. These are mini genealogy classes to help us to become better researchers. Two times a week we hold genealogy trivia games which are very educational and loads of fun. Please visit our site to locate a volunteer in your area or join our genealogy chat for some great help. I am sure you will not be disappointed. _http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genealogylookup/index.html_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genealogylookup/index.html)

Hello. Yes I have published a book titled Cruising Through the Coosa River News Volume 2: 1895-1905. I have softcover copies of the book for $20 plus postage and hardcover copies for $30 plus postage. Postage for either version is $3.55. The book is abstracts of births, deaths, marriages and other items of genealogical interest from the Coosa River News newspaper of Centre, Cherokee Co., AL. People from Gadsden and Etowah county were often mentioned in the newspaper. To get a copy just mail a check to the address below. Thanks. P.S. - There is no Volume 1 yet (long story) and I will have Volume 3 completed sometime in January. John C. Awbrey 2673 Rexford Street Hokes Bluff, AL 35903
Do you have a book for sale re: Cherokee Co. or Etowah Co?.
To Mrs. Abbott aka Napi3, This is a mailing list for Etowah county. There are queries and answers going back and forth between many researchers. However, everyone on the list gets every query and answer sent to them. Even people who post their queries and answers to the Etowah county rootsweb message board has their posts forwarded to this list, but they do not see any responses made through this list. Just an FYI, not every post that comes through this list is intended for you. If you get a email that has information that doesnt pertain to your family, just delete it. Thanks. John Awbrey
