Eli Cookson was the enumerator for Distict 149 in Gadsden in the 1900 census. Would anyone have any information regarding him? Since he was doing census work, would there be a public record of some type regarding this? He and his father Daniel moved to Gadsden in 1870 or so to get into a lumber business. They were from northern Maine. On the census he has himself listed as a farmer and has notes suggesting he has a family though he is living alone. The same notes are also on the lines that the other heads of family are on suggesting that he was making note of the complete family even though they were not living there. Can anyone shed some light on this family? Thanks, Gary Knight

I have nothing on the Dudney line except the name A. Henry Dudney. As you state he was married to a Sizemore which is one of the lines I am researching. However, the data you listed helped me a great deal on the Dudney colinear line. I must appologize for not being able to help you. If I come across anything, I'll pass it along to you. Good luck on your future research--Donald Tedlock.
Posted on: Etowah Co. Al Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Al/Etowah/10855 Surname: Devine, Sanders ------------------------- I am seeking information on a Nell Devine. She married James Monroe Sanders in Bessemer, Alabama in about 1922. Their marriage did not last long, but they did have a child before the marriage ended. One older family member said she thought the last she had heard, Nell was in or around the Attala or Rainbow city area of Alabama. I know this is very sketchy information but it's all I have. Thank you to anyone with information on this Nell. Todd
