He is listed as Married, 3 years. It's not clear where Cynthia "Pinkie" was. David Pope ([email protected]) Sugar Land, TX 77479 281/980-8893
My father's middle name was Blackwell. He was SAM BLACKWELL HARRIS, b. 17 January in Danville, Morgan Co, AL. I am wondering whom he was named for. There must have been an admirable Mr. Blackwell in Danville at that time. Sam's parents were James Sylvanus Harris and Mary Elizabeth Tatom. Do you have any explanation? This name never appears again in our family, so it is significant. Jack Harris

I am posting to the Etowah County list because I imagine many of you have ties as I do to Clay County. I've been waiting for some while for a reprint of the Clay County heritage book. Heritage Publishing still doesn't have enough prepaids and may have to refund the money to those who have already paid. It would help if they could get a few more prepaid orders. The cost is $69.80. You may send a check to Heritage Publishing Consultants; PO Box 67, Clanton, AL 35046. Their e-mail address is [email protected] and their web site is www.heritagepublishing.net/ I understand the book is well worth the cost and I have not been able to find any used copies out there, so this may be our only chance to get it. Would appreciate your help. Thanks in advance for all assistance. Carol
