    3. I am researching the William Brown family and would like to exchange info with any one searching this line. The family lived in Cherokee Co which later became Etowah. William died before 1860 since he does not show up in the 1860 Cherokee Co census. All the family stayed in Etowah Co from 1870 to 1930, except for David Simpson Brown my g grandfather. He went to Texas but I am not sure just when. I have been unable to find him and Adeline for 1870 and 1880. Any help appreciated and I will share what I have. 1. Gadsden Library
    2. Evelyn Leslie
    3. Hi list, We have a couple of questions regarding the holdings in the Gadsden library and hope to hear from someone who is familiar with what can be found where. First, we need information on Creek Indian research material, particularly ECA's. Second question: Is the best source the main Gadsden library or the Nichols Memorial Library in Alabama City? We found the main Gadsden Library online but there did not seem to be a way for a non-member to ask questions. Also, I do have a third question if the answer to which library has the better resources on Creek Indians: When will it re-open? We live about an hour's drive from Gadsden and usually come into the city via I-759, so it would really help to know the answers to the above. Thanks in advance for any help and guidance. Evelyn

There are no other children which tells me the mother, Sally, has been ill. Sally was most likely a Porter before her marriage. The Porters would be found on the 1860 census for AL since she was born in Alabama. I will check this. If anyone has connections to this family , I would like to visit with you about them.

    3. Jim, I have a Martha Luvicie Tolbert md. Henry L.M. Cooper Jr. However, I don't have anything forward on this family. My interest is Vicie's mother Rebecca E. Phillips Ramsey Tolbert. Beckie was the daughter of Brittain Phillips and Nancy Owens of the St. Clair, Etowah & Blount Co. areas. Beckie's sister Amanda Phillips Johns Windsor was my 3G grandmother. Do you connect with this particular family of Coopers? Henry's death certificate says he was buried in the Altoona Cem. Thank you Terry Jackson Yelag@aol.com wrote: >Can anyone on the list assist me in getting in touch with Tabitha Graves? >Ms. Graves is apparently a very knowledgeable researcher of the Cooper families >of Etowah/DeKalb County. 2. Terry Jackson
    3. Looking for descendants or information on Mrs. A.J. Bowling. Hoping to determine if she is Louisa E. Ramsey, daughter of Thomas J. Ramsey & Rebecca E. Phillips Ramsey Tolbert. I tentatively have her listed as follows: Louisa Ramsey b. ca. 1858 DeKalb Co., AL (1860 DeKalb Co., AL Thomas J. Ramsey, father) (1866 Blount Co., AL George C. Tolbert, stepfather) (1870 Blount Co., AL George C. Tolbert, stepfather) (1880 Etowah Co., AL George C. Tolbert, stepfather) (no census records located for 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 as yet) md. 1880-1929 to A.J. Bowling, no marriage record found as yet. d. between 1-31-1929 (Rebecca E. Tolbert, mother, obituary, listed as survivor) & 2-4-1960 (Mary E. Tolbert Shell, sister, obituary, no mention) In her mother's obituary (1929) Mrs. A.J. Bowling is listed as a resident of North Birmingham. I found a death record reference to a Lou Bolding that may turn out to be her. I won't know for sure until I go look at it Monday. Does anyone have any information or ideas where else to look for this lady? At this point, I'm desparate for ideas. Thanks Terry Jackson
