    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: ADAMS, GRAHAM, HAYNES, JETER, SANFORD, SHEPPARD, SPIVEY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VS.2ADI/678 Message Board Post: I have been searching my wife's lines who came from in and around Elmore county, AL, back to the middle to late 1850's. Her surnames in that area are ADAMS, GRAHAM, WALL, SANFORD, SPIVEY, SHEPPARD, HAYNES, and JETER. Does anyone know the history of what was then Central Institute? I know my wife's maternal grandfather William Cecil ADAMS who married Grace Thelma WALL, attended Elmore County High School. In fact, we have a very old photo of him in his Elmore High football uniform. I have always heard names such as Eclectic, Equalia, but am unfamiliar with Central Institute. Please respond either to the message board or to jbishop@gte.net. There were many of theses families in the 1880 census in Central Institute - 1880 AL Census: Central Institute, Elmore, Alabama; FHL Film 1254012, NA Film T9-0012, Pages 92B and others.

    3. Have you run across John William Adams or John Brackenridge Adams in your research? John William was the father of John Brackenridge, and lived in Tallapoosa and Elmore Counties from around the 1840s to the late 1870s, when they moved to Texas. John William was my gg-grandfather, and I'd love to find parents and siblings for him. ----- Original Message ----- From: <jbishop@gte.net> To: <ALELMORE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 28, 2002 5:41 PM Subject: [ALElmore] Central Institute, Elmore county, AL during 1880 CESUS > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: ADAMS, GRAHAM, HAYNES, JETER, SANFORD, SHEPPARD, SPIVEY > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VS.2ADI/678 > > Message Board Post: > > I have been searching my wife's lines who came from in and around Elmore county, AL, back to the middle to late 1850's.
