Hello All! I think the postal district and census enumeration district were both derived from their proximity to the old school. There is still a small community shown in my atlas called "Central" which I believe is in the area where Central Institute School was located. It appears to be at the intersection of Highways 80 and 9, and is somewhat north and west of Eclectic. Residents of the area did some graveyard searches for my ancestors who lived in the Central Institute ED this spring. They looked in the vicinity of Central, but we haven't located their markers yet.
