I'm not 100% certain how long the city of Montgomery had two newspapers running, but with Wetumpka's proximity it's likely that any published obituary would have run in the Montgomery Advertiser and the Alabama Journal. The Journal ceased publishing some years ago, but it did run an obit for my grandfather in 1974. I don't know for certain if it was in business in 1958. I'm also not aware of any online source of obituaries for either paper. You can find obituaries at montgomeryadvertiser.com only back to March of 2001. I had to find my grandfather's in the local public library by searching microfilm. Perhaps someone can look there for you. I'm not sure if I'll get an opportunity to visit soon, but if I do I'll be sure and let you know. = Steve = -- Steve W.
