Hi Vickie and all Aldridge list members, I have a lost an Aldredge ancestor (yes, that's the way the name was spelled, at least in the 20th century). He is the father of James Lester Aldredge, who was the son of Margaret Henrietta M. LESTER and her first husband __?___ ALDREDGE. Could anyone out there help me with a lookup in your records to see if either James Lester or Margaret Henrietta M. Lester Aldredge appears. I would really like to know the name of James' father. James was born in Georgia (presumably in Jones County) in 1847. His mother remarried Boling G. Morris circa 1855. I don't know what happened to her "Aldredge" first husband, but he seems to have been out of the picture by the 1850 census. She and __?__ had 3 children: James Lester, Marilla Elizabeth, and Barnett Aldredge, all born between 1840-1849. I've tried many avenues to trace this ancestor with no luck so far.
