    3. *Article* About 10 o'clock Monday morning, the home of Mr. C.R. Alred, of Paris, was destroyed by fire, and the fire which destroyed the home also burned to death Mrs. Alred and her 2 children, aged 4 and 2 years. Mrs. Alred had been at home but a short time from a visit to a neighbor's when the fire broke out, and for a time the fire was a mystery, but after the building had burned to the ground the cause of the sudden fire was discovered. The stove had been blown to pieces and near it was a coal oil can. The bodies of Mrs. Alred and one of the children were also near the stove. These evidences showed unmistakably that the woman had started to make a fire in the stove and had poured coal oil from the can into the stove, and that the can had exploded, burning Mrs. Alred and the child to death almost instanly. The younger child was asleep in the adjoining room. (Honey Grove Signal- January 23, 1914)
