Hi fellow Aldridge listers, I am new to this list and this is my first posting. I can go back to my gt gt grandfather Henry ALLDRIDGE with certainty. Henry was born 31 July 1818 at Floore, Northamptonshire, Eng and died 20 April 1877 at Nelson New Zealand. He married Esther SHAW 3 Sept 1843 in Floore, Northamptonshire, England. Henry and Esther had 10 children. John ( who was my gt grandfather - I am descended from his second marriage )born 1845, William, Richard, Henry, Anne, Elizabeth, Rose Anna, Daniel, George and Edwin. The first five of these were born in Floore, and the rest in New Zealand although I am not certain about Elizabeth. According to an Ancestral File which I found on the FamilySearch website Henry was one of eight children born to Robert ALLDRIDGE and his wife Elizabeth HAYCOCK. My uncle has confirmed that Henry was one of eight children and that a brother of his (Henry's) had gone to USA. According to the Ancestral File that was Richard who had moved there with his wife and two daughters - to Utah. The children of Robert and Elizabeth nee HAYCOCK are: John born 1 December 1798 Robert born 3 November 1799 Ann born 4 July 1802 Jacob born 18 November 1804 Mary Ann born 5 April 1807 Benjamin born 31 May 1812 Richard born 3 May 1815 Henry born 31 July 1818 Would like to make contact with anyone researching this family. Robert ALLDRIDGE's father is Jacob according to the AF. I have not yet proved anything on the AF. Although we spell our ALLDRIDGE with 2 L's it was originally spelt with L we think.
