Hi Karen: I have the Vital Records of Nantucket along with the History of Nantucket by Starbuck, and also Lands and Land Owners by Worth. The vitals do not indicate that the Cartrights are Quaker at all. That is not to say that they didn't become Quakers later on. But what I did look at this was not the case. Also, not all the entries that are listed in the Nantucket Vital Records actually took place on Nantucket. In fact a great many of them did not. The statement that I made about George Aldrich not naming a son George, nor did his son name a son George was in support that the only George Aldrich who could have been in Swansea, MA was George 1 himself. He certainly didn't remain there for any length of time. I have a Dorcas Cooley in my own lineage, and the Cooley's were not Quaker by a long shot. Very much the WASP. The Cooley's followed along with Rev. Thomas Hooker (my ancestor too), and he certainly wasn't a Quaker.
