Hi All, Sorry I'm so late jumping in here but better late than never. :) Yes, John Bartlett b . England- d. 17 Aug. 1684, Cumberland, R.(now Manville, R.I.) However in many writings I have , it says John b. England was the son of JOHN & JOANE . ( Town records of Weymouth. Ma. and other writings, including The History of Bellingham, Ma, ) mar. abt. 1665; Sarah ALDRICH -George -1; b. 16 Jan 1645, Braintree, Ma d. 17 Feb. 1685; Cumberland , R.I. (now Manville R.I.) Their son John Jr. Bartlett b. 11 Feb. 1666 Weymouth, Ma. mar. Alice ? Ayone know her last name??? There is according to record 9 Bartletts that immagrated to the colonies five (5) of them arriving between 1623 and 1643. It says it was here in Ma. that the famous Bartlett Pear came into existence.. Some settled in Maine. A few manuscripts I have (unp) say the Bartletts can be traced back to 1066. to the Norman invasion of England. The Battle of Hastings. I do have a little history on this if anyone's interested but these are privately researched manuscripts.. so how accurate I cannot say. I would be very interested in more information that "This John" was the son of Richard ?? As this is also one of my Aldrich lines, and must admit to little research on this line from original records.. Most is from other's writings (Manuscripts) Local History .. Thank You . Alice
