I have spent days trying to find parents and families of spouses of Ahaz Cook. I am quite sure the following is correct: -Born 19 Jul 1790, probably Mendon, Ma -Served in war of 1812 from Mendon and received land in Illinois given to vets. -Married Mercy Walling, 19 Jul 1818, Mendon -Married Hannah Sherwood, 1 Oct 1829, Lewiston, Fulton, Il. -Mendon vitals say he died there 17 Aug 1840, son of Esaius Cook although some say he died in Far West, Missouri The first name "Ahaz" was common in the Aldrich family in Mendon and in R.I. at that time, (I believe due to the earlier death of a young Aldrich boy by name of Ahaz) and there were a number of Cook/Aldrich marriages. Could the mother of Ahaz Cook have been from the Aldrich family. I can find no other reference to Esaius(Esaias) Cook. As you know, any information would be sincerely appreciated. Paul P.
