    3. I have a newspaper clipping from the Sunday, 15 Oct 1950 Register-Guard, Eugene, Ore. Shows a picture of the ceremony and the following. "ENSIGN ROBERT. G. ALDRICH, USN, son of Mr.. and Mrs. C.L. Aldrich of 2567 Nixon St. is shown as he was being awarded the Air Medal for heroism as a divebomber pilot against the North Korean Communists. Vice Admiral Arthur D. Struble, commander of the Seventh Fleet, pinned the medal on Aldrich in a ceremony held recently on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier in the Far Eastern waters. Aldrich flew in support of the Inchon landing and was in the group that flew the highest number of missions from the USS Valley Forge. (U.S. Navy photo, Wiltshire engraving.)" I can scan this clipping & e-mail it to family if anyone contacts me.
