    3. Hi Bill: Turner Aldrich had a son Luther Tisdale Aldrich (bro of Ellery - David's line). GAG vol 5 pg 98 says he was b. ca 1822 in Cattaragus Co., NY. First wife was Anna Howell. Second wife was Christiana b. 1830 in VA Luther was in the civil war and lived in Dayton, NY. In 1873 he deed his property at Salmananca, Cattaragus Co to his son Lorain D. Aldrich Now these are the children: Luman b. 1845 Iowa Lorain D. b. 1848 Van Buren Co., Iowa Byron b. 1850 Cattaragus Co., NY Martin b. 1856 NY Mary Margaret m [Thomas F.] Barrett and lived in Scranton, PA Sophia b. 1859 Lorain D. is the only one of this bunch who is carried on as far as I know. now! Just because someone left to go somewhere doesn't mean they couldn't come back. This luther left and went to IA but was back!!!!! Again GAG is not sourced, but if your ancestor was Thomas F. Barrett married to Mary Margret Aldrich, then I certainly would think this is who you are looking for. Remember now, the census records are only as good as tools. Why? because you don't know who gave what information to the census taker. It could have been the maid in the house, hired hand, visitor. Regards, Alison
