    3. Good Morning Diane: GAG = George Aldrich Genealogy by A. James Aldrich AJ #__ = A. My Lidia Aldrich was born in >East Milton >, Ohio in 1873 and she was married in 1903 to Franklin Foster >VanOrmer. Lydia is not carried on in the genealogy. AJ says she was b. 15 Nov 1872 and d. Apr 1951. There are no sources (chapter, verse and page) for this material in this book. Don't depend on the census records as being correct. They are only a tool or guide if you prefer. The reason I say this, is that you nor I or anyone else knows who gave the census taker the information, about who was born where, etc. It may have been a farm hand, servant, one of the kids, wife, etc. If I were you I'd look at the 1870 census and see what that says. William Anson Aldrich was born in Mendon, MA 13 Apr 1827 VR pg 20. I think William Anson's parents , including he and his sister probably lived in Cumberland, RI when William was young. This could then be the reason why it is stated in the 1880 census he was b. RI. William Anson's mother was of Cumberland, RI when she married Anson Aldrich. I would look no further here for a different Lydia/Lidia. You listed the children and I went to the GAG and saw the same list, give or take a middle name or initial.
