I am new to the internet as a source of genealogical information. I am pleased to learn of this group of people who are interested in the Aldrich family. Here is my lineage listing; George Aldrich (abt 1610- ) Jacob Aldrich (1652-1695) Seth Aldrich (1679-1737) Jonathan Aldrich (1718-1740) Abner Aldrich (1745-1826) Zeba Aldrich (1782-1826) Warren Aldrich (1812- ) James Aldrich (1845- ) Chelsea Aldrich (1879-1961) Hazel Aldrich Church (1907-1945) Gerald Church (1929- ) Most of my information has come from the six volumes of A. J. Aldrich. I would like to know of other published sources. I am the kind of person who needs all the help I can get. Gerry Church

    3. Effectively immediately, Please do not use "Roll Call". Use "Lineage listing" instead. Roll and Call are both surnames and will confuse the search engines into thinking they are surnames if you use "Roll Call". There are many of us who have sort feature in browser that automatically sort the messages as they are downloaded. W. David Samuelsen, listowner.

    3. Hi Ralf: I wanted to let you know that Samuel Aldrich that you have as being born in Braintree 1661 is not in the Braintree, MA Records 1640-1793. The first child for Joseph and Patirence is Joseph b. 14 (5) 1663 pg 643 the other child, Sarah b. 29 (8) 1677 Braintree, MA Records 1640-1793 pg 653. On pg 717 Joseph and Patience were m. 26 (12) ______ [1661 or 2 perhaps] by Capt Torry of Weymouth, MA. I fail to understand why people must change the dates from what is listed in the books! Samuel 3 and Jane Puffer: No Aldrich births for any of these in Braintree Records. 3. Hi David and all Cuz's, Thanks David for pointing that out to us! I'm sure we can all change our subjects lines to better accommadate the browser.. And while we are speaking of subject lines, I find the [ALDRICH-L] in the subject line to be an annoyance also.. especially when quickly wanting to go through saved messages, in an Aldrich folder or in the mailboxes. I have NO subjects showing except the [ALDRICH-L] and have to move the page over to find the message I am looking for.. Then move it back to find whom I'm looking for and with so many message having the same subject lines on replies..the [ALDRICH-L] makes it that much more difficult for me to find a message quickly. Anyone else having this problem??? And Thanks Sue , Alison , and Ralph for all that great data on the Aldrich lines . Boy you can tell the pro's from us amatuers. :) My printer has been working up a storm.. and I will go into my data base and compare, change, add if a good source and etc.. Thanks for sharing.. we need more of this type of postings, to help all of us.. Happy Hunting, Alice alicep@ma.ultranet.com "Message From Massachusetts"

They are open on Sundays from 12-5 and you can park on the street for free on Sunday. Genealogy collection is maintained here by the Questing Heirs Genealogy Society. A small collection, but worthwhile. It has a few things I have not found anywhere else in the area. Photocopiers available. Coffee shop across the street. Los Angeles Central Library 630 W. 5th Street Los Angeles, CA 90017 213-626-7461 Parking structure on Flower St., validation at information desk in library. (This gets you a lower "library rate.") This library has the largest genealogy collection in Southern California and one of the largest town and county history collections in the West. It is also well known for it's city directory collection. It is well worth several visits. I would recommend going on Saturday or Sunday when traffic is light and parking is cheaper. Or you can catch the Blue Line during the week and get off about 2 blocks from the library. If you go on the weekend, be aware that most restaurants are closed (except Carls Jr. which is open until 2 PM on weekends). Photocopiers are available.
